Late in the afternoon yesterday, I got a pretty negative email in response to what I shared in yesterday. It was one among many positive and thoughtful responses I have received recently.
I didn’t reply to the email because I knew from the opening sentence that this person wasn’t really wanting to receive a response, so I took a look saw they had unsubscribed and let it go.
There was a time when that would have thrown me for a loop, but now I smile and say thank you for helping to filter out who isn’t my ideal customer or client.
I also used to try and please everyone. I wanted to ensure that I kept the door open for anyone that ‘may’ want to work with me, but the reality is if you don’t take a stand for something you’re often left with nothing to stand on anyway.
Being clear on what matters to you, what is important in your life and what your values are will help you create a business and life that matters to you.
